But I can see the value in Bound Weapons spells-does anyone know if those allow for sneak attack damage bonuses? I hadn't really considered that, thinking Illusion and Destruction spells can be used with less detection that summoning a familiar or an atronach. Some things I've read about other people's Stealth Mage builds suggest other people like to rely on Conjuration spells for their Stealth Mages. When out in the open, he has to rely on surprise range attacks (pity you don't get a damage bonus of sneak magical attacks!) and then finish the fight by additional range attacks.

If in a dungeon setting he can often take out enemies without being detected at all (n Apprentice difficulty level). I was thinking that he could rely on Sneak, Alteration, Illusion and Destruction, with Archery, Alchemy, Restoration, Speech and Enchanting as secondary skills.įor combat, he's been pretty successful with sneaking and then attacking with a combo of illusion and destruction spells. He also has a Ring of Minor Magicka that he was fortunate to find pretty early on in the game (also hoping to upgrade soon). He's just made it to level 12, and he's suited in Novice Destruction robes (hoping to get some Apprentice ones soon), the Novice hood you pick up from the dead wizard in Helgen's torture chamber, and Thalmor gloves and boots he got from the dead Thalmor wizard at the Talos shrine north of the Helgen cave exit. Once you do so, you're in.I got bored and created a High Elf character who's going to be a Stealth Mage build. The first one to give it to Armand will join the guild. Doing so will have him tell you to go to the waterfront at night time.Īfter that, the player will have to compete with three others in stealing an item. You can also wait for and talk to the others meeting up with him and ask them about the Thieves Guildīefriend City-Swimmer in Bravil. Wait around the Imperial City Waterfront in a garden near where the small houses are and talk to the guy with the torch, Armand Christophe, and raise your disposition with him. Increase your disposition with them to ask them about the Gray Fox. Read one of the Gray Fox wanted posters then talk to a beggar. They will deliver a message from the Gray Fox after the player rests. Get arrested for a nonviolent crime, like pickpocketing, then rest and you'll meet a dark elf named Myvyrna Arano. The guild can be joined in one of four ways: The Thieves Guild is for those interested in the arts of stealth, thievery, and persuasion. The Thieves Guild in Oblivion might be one of the first guilds the player hears about since there are wanted signs scattered around the Imperial City featuring their leader, the Gray Fox.
